Banks DIH presents bursaries

Banks DIH Limited presented bursaries to 25 children of employees and shareholders who were successful at the recent National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) during a ceremony on Saturday at its Sports Club at Thirst Park, a release from the company said yesterday.

Deonarain Seepaul, Finance Con-troller/Assistant Company Secretary who delivered the feature address said the Company has awarded in excess of 1000 bursaries over 35 years.

He added that the selection of the awardees this year was very competitive as the scores were very close.

The release said that Seepaul congratulated the students for performing outstandingly and charged them to remain focused as they enter a new phase of their school life.

“Education is an indispensable part of life it is fundamental to the way we think, function and make decisions in our lives and how we influence the lives of others. Equipping our children with the skills and knowledge including desired values and character will enable them to have the confidence and determination to succeed”, he was quoted as saying in the release.

The bursaries were presented by George Mc Donald, Co-Managing Director/Marketing Director to the students. Also present were Andrew Carto, Human Resources Director and other executives of the Company, parents and well-wishers.

The awardees are: Ajani Merchant, Aaron Allison, Mariah James, Macasey Barclay, Aleonce Cameron, Patrica Gobin, Joshua Ceres, Latisha Blair, Andre Denny, Shemeala Adonis, Jaya Ragoobeer, Mollyann Fraser, Naomi Stephen, Jaya Ramkumar, Latoya Woolford, Shomari Wiltshire, Dominic Chan-A-Sue, Arun Lui Mangar, Hansvahini Maraj, Raul Khan, Jonathan Peters, Lee Choo-Shee-Nam, Nickel Moses, Kemuel Grant and Jayde Da Silva.
