Two men wounded on Lamaha St after shooter makes good on threat

One man was discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) while another is nursing a gunshot wound to his foot after they were shot just after exiting a night club on Lamaha Street yesterday morning.

Godfrey Vincente, 60, a construction worker of Lamaha Street was treated at the hospital for a graze to his ear caused by a bullet and later discharged while his co-worker Mohan Lall, 67, of Kitty was admitted after he sustained a graze to his head and a gunshot to his left foot.

Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday just after he was discharged, Vincente related that he and Lall had just left the night club and bar around 3:30 AM yesterday after which they headed to his home which is walking distance away. He added that upon their arrival a series of gunshots was fired by someone in the vicinity and as a result the police were alerted and they arrived on the scene.

He said that he pointed out the man to the police and he was taken away in the police vehicle. However, according to Vincente, approximately half an hour later, the man returned and told him, “you like talk, I gone shoot you” and he started to fire random shots in his direction causing one to graze him. Lall was hit to the foot and grazed to his head.

The shooter made good his escape and is yet to be apprehended.
