Marriott expects operating profit this year – AHI

Based on actual and projected performance, the Marriott Hotel is expected to make an operating profit based on cash flows by the end of this year, its special purpose company Atlantic Hotel Inc (AHI) said in a statement today.
AHI was responding to reports in recent editions of the Kaieteur News.
Further, AHI said that occupancy for August at the hotel was 52%, translating into over 100 rooms while in July it was 48%.
The Marriott Hotel which opened earlier this year has been the subject of fierce controversy as the previous PPP/C government used taxpayers funding to build the estimated US$58M Kingston Hotel.
