Conductor gets three years jail for 14 grammes of ganja

A bus conductor will be spending the next three years in jail after being found guilty of possession of cannabis.

Randy Norton made his first court appearance in February and pleaded not guilty to having 14 grammes of cannabis on February 7th, in the vicinity of the Stabroek Market Square.

When he appeared before Magistrate Delon Bess yesterday, Norton, a father of six, was found guilty of the charge. As a result, he was sentenced to three years in jail and fined $30,000.
