T&T guard slain in front of 14-year-old girlfriend on beach

(Trinidad Guardian) Hours before appearing before a Point Fortin magistrate for being an uncontrollable child, a 14-year-old Granville girl spent Tuesday night assisting police with their investigation into the murder of her 21-year-old boyfriend.

Jasent Clement, a security officer of South Trace, Chatham, was chopped about the head earlier that night, allegedly by one of the girl’s boyfriends. So far, police believe the murder was due to a love triangle.

Reports stated that Clement got a text message Tuesday afternoon and called his employer to take him and the girl to Belle Vue Beach, Gran-ville, around 6 pm. While sitting at the end of the road around 7 pm, however, someone snuck up behind them and chopped him. The girl told police she ran off and hid in the bushes, while his killer threw his body into the sea.
