Problems at NFMU

Dear Editor,

Please allow me space in your newspaper to address some issues of mine as an Ex- Senior Staff of the National Frequency Management Unit (N.F.M.U) during my time there.

I must first of all say that I am pleased to see that a visit to the Unit was done by Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, where he had a first hand look at how the Unit is being managed under the leadership of Mr. Valmikki Singh, who in my opinion, is a square peg in a round hole.

Also, I am thrilled to hear about the forensic audit and its findings which were conducted there under the watch of Minister Jaipaul Sharma. Keep up the good work Minister Sharma.

Some issues that need to be addressed are:

  • High Staff turnover
  • Malpractices i.e. faulty management which resulted in a shift of blame on innocent staff members leading to improper incarceration of these innocent staff members.
  • Partiality
  • Racism
  • Prejudice
  • Improper invoicing
  • Seizing and returning of radio equipment
  • Threats to staff
  • Victimisation

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yours faithfully,

R.Tiwarie

Former Head of Inspection,

National Frequency Management
