Stabbed taxi driver remains sedated

Rawlyn Crum-Ewing remains hospitalized as doctors are awaiting a puncture on his heart to heal after he underwent surgery for stab wounds he sustained during an attack on Thursday night.

According to Crum-Ewing’s sister, her brother, a taxi driver of Lot 3774 North Ruimveldt, George-town has regained consciousness but the doctors have resorted to sedating him as the wound on his heart needs to heal and if he is awake, it might affect the healing process.

“The heart got to repair itself…so they are putting him to sleep to allow for that healing,” the woman said.

She said that relatives are confident that Crum-Ewing will be fine and they are all praying for his complete recovery.

An unconscious and bloodied Crum-Ewing was picked up from Sheriff Street on Thursday night and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where relatives said that it was confirmed that Crum-Ewing sustained several stab wounds to his body.

One of the stabs punctured his lung while another penetrated his heart.

The taxi driver was last seen carrying a male passenger in the front seat of his car.
