Marlon Lyken, 25, of ‘B’ Field, Sophia said that he could not recall the name of the street where the accident occurred on Wednesday last but he said that he recalled when he was at a junction and the traffic lights were amber and blinking at the time.

Since he had the right of way, Lyken said that he advanced but his cycle was subsequently slammed by the oncoming car.

A relative told Stabroek News that information they gathered from the police stated that the accident occurred on Stone Avenue.

Lyken said that he blacked out after the impact and when he regained consciousness he was being transported by the police to the hospital.

The injured man said that the driver who hit him is a medical doctor who never visited him at the hospital. The police did not return to take a statement from him either.
