Organisers stage successful Cross Fit competition

A pulsating Cross Fit competition brought the curtain down on the successful two-day GTM Fitness Expo which concluded Sunday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Among the booths stacked with supplements, apparel, magazines and nutritious snacks and juices, there were several activities that had the venue and the streets buzzing over the weekend.

On Day one which was highlighted by a 5K Cancer Awareness walk that was illuminated by glow sticks, there were also Jazzercises, yoga, kickboxing, soca aerobics, circuit training, boot camp classes and six pack ab classes.

Before Dillon Mahadeo and Semonica Duke took the top honors in the Cross-Fit championship on Day two, there were karate demonstrations, capoeira, dancing and bodybuilding. There was a basketball and futsal game and a bench press competition which was won by powerlifter, Rudolph Blackman.

Fans also got a chance to interact with some of the top athletes in the country at the meet and greet including world renowned bodybuilder, Hugh Ross. (Emmerson Campbell)
