Alanzo Greaves ‘Birthday Classic’ set

National cyclist, Alanzo Greaves will belatedly celebrate his birth anniversary by doing what he does best. Riding.

Greaves, who turned 26 on September 30, will commemorate his milestone by staging the Alanzo Greaves ‘Birthday Classic’ tomorrow in the inner circuit of the National Park.

The Roraima Bikers wheelsman along with the nation’s best cyclists will be back on their saddles competing for lucrative cash prizes in the highly anticipated 30-lap event.

For the second annual event which pedals off at 09:00hrs, there will be a sprint prize of $2000 for every lap, giving each starter a chance to ride home with incentives.

Yes that is right, 30 sprint prizes at $2000 each.

What is guaranteed however, is that the top three finishers will pocket handsome amounts of cash prizes and medals following the Classic.

The sum of $12,000, $10,000 and $8000 will go towards the cyclists that finish on the podium.

Last year’s winner Raynauth Jeffrey, along with the likes of Michael Anthony,Paul DeNobrega, Hamza Eastman, Geron Williams, Raul Leal, Jamal John and Marlon Williams along with the in-form Greaves and others are expected to saddle up for tomorrow’s highly anticipated race.

Greaves noted that he hopes to make the event a calendar one.
