The three persons who were injured in the hit-and-run on Saturday night are currently in stable condition and are recovering while the family of the woman who died is unsure as to how the investigation into the accident is going.

Tragedy struck on Saturday around 7:16 PM when a car ran into four women who were standing on the road.

Stabroek News had reported that the four women: Irene Ramsey, 44, Ruth Percival, Winella Usher and Alanka Cummings, of Perth Village, Mahaicony had just left a thanksgiving service and were standing on the road waiting on a taxi when a car ran into them.

The four women were rushed to the hospital where Ramsey was pronounced dead and the others were treated for broken bones and other injuries.

Ramsey’s family said that their grief has only been compounded by the fact that the police are not keeping them up to date with the investigation.

“I just want to know what’s going on with the investigation and every time we go to the police station they always pushing us around.

They are always rude and never know anything,” one of Ramsey’s relatives told Stabroek News yesterday.

They said that all they want at this point in time is for the driver to be punished according to the law.
