Pomeroon labourer found dead in canal

The body of a labourer of Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon River was found floating in the canal in the area on Saturday morning.

According to information, Dennis Fredericks called ‘Cash’ left his home on Friday with several other persons to go to a liquor shop but never returned home.

The man reportedly lived alone and was not married.

This publication was told that the man was between the ages of 70 – 75 years old.

At around 6 am on Saturday, the body was spotted floating in the Friendship Canal nor far from his home by residents of the area who immediately informed the police at Charity.

The body was retrieved and was taken to the Charity Mortuary where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police investigations are ongoing.
