Diamond man remanded on trafficking charge after cannabis bust

A Diamond Housing Scheme resident was yesterday remanded to prison on a drug trafficking charge, after police said he was found with 154 grammes of cannabis at his home.

Rawle Brammer, 30, pleaded not guilty to the charge of drug possession for trafficking when he appeared before city magistrate Judy Latchman.

It is alleged that Brammer, on November 19th, at Eight Street Section B Block X Diamond, East Bank Demerara, was stopped and searched by police, who found the cannabis in his possession.

Brammer was denied bail and was remanded to prison until January 14th, 2016, when the matter will be called again.
