Anna Catherina Islamic Complex acquires adjoining property

The Board of Trustees of the Anna Catherina Islamic Complex (ACIC) has announced that it has signed a multi-million-dollar contract for the property adjoining its institution and will soon embark on upgrading and expanding its school to cater for additional levels.

According to a press release, the acquisition will see the complex providing secular education to the community. Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President General of the ACIC, Hakeem Khan says he is pleased with this new endeavour as it will now allow the institution to further enhance its role as a major Islamic institution in the country. The signing of the contract was witnessed by former president of the complex Hajji Jabar Khan and Hajji Roshan Khan.

The ACIC, which is also the centre of Sunni Islam in Guyana is the venue of more than 80% of the national Muslim programmes and the headquarters of several organisations and institutions both local and overseas, the release said.
