According to Prosecutor Deniro Jones, on July 27th, Brandon collected the deceased from his home and the man was never seen alive again. Jones said Sookram’s wife reported him missing and on July 31st his decomposing body was found at Hubu Backdam under a jamoon tree. There was a gunshot wound to his head.

Jones added that the investigation led to Brandon, who admitted to the crime.

The matter is adjourned to August 10th, when Brandon will appear before Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Sookram had previously been jailed in St Maarten for an attempt to smuggle cocaine onto the island.
