Fruta Conquerors to begin constitutional reform process this week

With the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) declaring that its Congress will possibly be held November 14th, GFF Elite Club Fruta Conquerors announced yesterday that it will begin its constitutional reform process on Thursday.

“In an effort to meet the deadline set for all sub-associations and Elite Clubs to have their new constitutions reviewed, amended and adopted by the Normalization Committee of the Guyana Football Federation, the executive committee of Fruta Conquerors Football Club are inviting all players, former players and registered members to a Constitutional Reform Committee Meeting on Thursday 24th September at 14:00 hours in the club house, Takuba Road, Tucville,” a release from the club’s secretary Daniel Wilson stated. The official timeline for the GFF Constitution Reform and Congress states that meetings for adoption of each member’s new constitution should conclude by September 25th.

The timeline further stated that meetings to elect new executive committee members should occur by October 30th, with the GFF congress programmed to be held November 14th.

To date, the East Bank Football Association and Upper Demerara Football Association are the only associations known to have adopted the new constitution. With regards to the Elite clubs, Pele FC has acknowledged having adopted a new constitution.
