With Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Greene set to turn 81 on November 9th, the Mayor’s Cup organizing committee will stage the Mayor Hamilton Green 81st birth anniversary Inter-Ward football tournament from November 8th.
The event, which will be played on a knockout 7-a-side basis, will feature 32 teams from various parts of the country. On the opening match day at the Den Amstel Ground, Stewartville will oppose Grove from 14:00hrs while DeKenderen will oppose Agricola from 14:30hrs.
In the third fixture, Sara Lodge will oppose Kuru-Kururu from 15:00hrs while Bagotville will lock horns with South Sophia from 15:30hrs.
The fifth engagement will then pit Goed Fortuin against Crane from 16:00hrs while the sixth showdown will witness Pouderoyen locking horns with Wales from 16:30hrs. In the final two matchups, Uitvlugt will oppose Newtown Kitty from 17:00hrs while Den Amstel will tackle Kitty from 17:30hrs.
On the second day of the event on November 11th at the Victoria ground, Lima Dam will lock horns with New Amsterdam at 16:00hrs while Haslington will oppose North Sophia from 16:30hrs in the second matchup.
The third fixture will then pit Golden Grove against Mocha Champs at 17:00hrs while Buxton will oppose Plaisance from 17:30hrs in the fourth fixture. In the fifth match at 18:00hrs, Beterverwagting will oppose Mocha while Mahaica will oppose Soesdyke from 18:30hrs in the sixth showdown.
The final two fixtures will then witness Victoria opposing Herstelling from 19:00hrs and Ann’s Grove locking horns with Diamond at 19:30hrs.
Following the conclusion of the round of 32 stage, the round of 16 section, quarterfinal and semi-final stages will commence on November 15th at the Victoria ground from 14:00hrs.
