No. 70 and No. 69 Vikings clash tomorrow in 4R Bearings final in B/ce

In what is simply the biggest final to be contested at the Crabwood Creek Sports Complex in the last two decades, Number 70 A and Number 69 Vikings will clash in the final of the 4R Bearings T20 competition, organised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association tomorrow.

Some 20 teams from Yakusari to Crabwood Creek participated in the IPL style competition which was played in four zones and in a home and away round robin format.

The top two teams then advance from each zone to the knock out stages of the competition.

The semifinals, watched by a large crowd at the No. 69 Vikings ground, saw the two teams emerging victorious.

The crowd support is expected to be even bigger tomorrow and play will get underway with a 15-overs-a-side affair between Crabwood Creek Sports Club and No. 48 Challengers from 9:30hrs.

The final is expected to follow from 13:00hrs between No. 70 ‘A’ and No. 69 Vikings who will battle for the 4R trophy and $100,000.

The runner up team will receive $25,000 and a trophy while the Man-of-the -Match in the final will receive a trophy and cash incentive. Similarly the Most Valuable Player of the competition will receive a trophy and cash incentive.

Trophies will also be presented to all the batsmen who scored centuries and for all the bowlers who took five wicket hauls.

Admission $200 and children under 12 years free. There will be 50 gate prizes to be won as an added incentive for patrons.

The competition was the biggest ever played in the Upper Corentyne and was well organized by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association.
