Man found dead on yacht bore gunshot wound

The body of a man that was found earlier in this week with his dog in a yacht flying a French flag bore a gunshot wound to the face.
Stabroek News was informed by Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum that investigators who ventured to the location which is some 200 miles offshore Guyana reported that a single gunshot wound was seen on the man’s face. He was found sitting in a curled position and a shotgun was found under his body. Blanhum said that apart from that three other shotguns were found on the yacht and the dog also appeared to have been shot.
Arrangements are being made to bring the body to Georgetown while the identity of the man was not immediately known.
The drifting yacht was spotted some time Monday and reported by an oil tanker which was passing by.
