Gayle heading to Guyana after Big Bash fiasco

Women cricket fans (or female reporters for that matter) who blush easily might want to use the necessary make up (concealer) when attending cricket matches this month end with the news that T20 superstar opener Chris Gayle will be heading to Guyana to participate in the Unity Cricket T20 encounter at the Providence National Stadium. Gayle recently stirred up a bit of a hornet’s nest when he indulged in a bit of banter with a female Australia reporter.

“Your eyes are beautiful, hopefully we can win this game and then we can have a drink after as well. Don’t blush, baby,” Gayle reportedly told Chanel TEN reporter Mel Laughlin following a Big Bash game last Monday in Hobart.

He was subsequently fined US$7000 and there has since been widespread calls for him to be banned from the league.

Another Big Bash cricketer Andre Fletcher is also expected to play in the eagerly-awaited Unity Cricket T20 and fun day spectacular set for January 30 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Gayle, who has since apologized, will certainly be looking to put the issue behind him and thrill the Guyanese cricket fans with his spectacular exploits which only he can provide.

The 36-year-old Jamaican is without question the most dominant batsman in T20 cricket.
