Cocaine courier held at Ogle Airport

A drug courier, who was held at the Ogle International Airport, is now a patient under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he has been excreting pellets filled with the drug.

The man, Quami Cumberbatch, was arrested at about 5.30am yesterday. Police said ranks of the Narcotics Branch made the arrest at the Ogle Airport after 518 grammes of cocaine were found concealed in his under-clothes. Up to yesterday afternoon, police said he had excreted another 62 grammes in pellets at the GPHC.

Cumberbatch was on his way to board a flight to Barbados when the cocaine was found.

Cumberbatch, a gold miner, is expected to excrete more cocaine pellets.
