A police officer attached to the Tactical Services Unit (TSU) was interdicted after he was accused of sexually molesting a teenager.
This was confirmed by Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum, who told Stabroek News on Friday that the case file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
Stabroek News understands that the allegation was made against the officer by the child’s mother.
Reports revealed that the teenager was returning when the officer started to follow her.
This newspaper understands that the officer was involved in matter of a similar nature previously.
