Not every person claiming to be a spokesman for AFC-USA is one

Dear Editor,

Visnu Bisram’s letter in the February 18 edition of Stabroek News titled ‘The NY committee for the Jubilee is not representative of the Guyanese population’ references “AFC members” who are dissatisfied with the NY 50th Anniversary plans. This may be a real concern and has been addressed by the AFC-USA and others. Let this letter serve to inform Mr Bisram that there have been AFC-USA members on the 50th Planning Committee from its inception. Mr Bisram also references meetings in Queens and Brooklyn that the AFC-USA leadership knows nothing about.

I would caution Mr Bisram not to put his faith in everyone claiming to be a spokesman for the AFC-USA. Since the May elections, people have been coming out of the woodwork claiming to be founding members, executives, and spokesmen for the AFC in the New York Metro area. I would kindly request that Mr Bisram contact the AFC-USA leadership at, usa@afcguyana.com, before taking as gospel what these so-called AFC people say to him.

Yours faithfully,

EA Mashall

AFC-USA
