At about 2230h. last night, businessman Huang Jian, 44 years, and his reputed wife Jheng Shukang were about to enter their home at Industry, East Coast Demerara, when they were held up by two men armed with firearms, the police say.
The perpetrators took away a handbag containing US$600 and escaped, after shooting Huang Jian to his left foot. He has been admitted to hospital.
Investigations are in progress.
