Turkey hands over two ambulances

Turkey yesterday handed over two ambulances worth $25m to Minister of Public Health Dr George Norton.

One of the ambulances will be stationed at Skeldon and the other at a location to be decided, a release from the ministry said.

Norton in remarks at the handing over said that the ambulances were locally procured and form a part of a project which was approved by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) under the Turkish Cooperation Fund.

“I wish to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Turkish Government for these Ambulances which will no doubt go a long way in improving emergency response’, Norton said at a ceremony at his ministry.

Norton said that the Ministry of Public Health welcomes all the support it can get, “since keeping the nation healthy is not something we can do alone.”
