The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) yesterday retracted statements made by Head of Project Coordination Fitzroy Corlette on Wednesday that there was to be a restriction and not a ban on used tyre imports.
According to a press release from the GRA, Minister of Finance Winston Jordan’s announcement, of a notice to ban the importation of used tyres and reduce taxes on new ones to encourage their use, stands.
