De Peazer pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

When given a chance to explain De Peazer told the court that he and Ramotar owned a registered satellite business together. He alleged that Ramotar had been harassing him for weeks now. According to the defendant, he and the virtual complainant had a recent misunderstanding and the VC had even threatened him once.

When asked by the magistrate if he had reported the threat, the defendant said no. The prosecution made no objection to bail and the magistrate set it in the sum of $20,000. The matter was adjourned to April 11 for statements.
