A minibus operator was yesterday fined $10,000 for indecently exposing himself to a revenue collector, who found him sitting in his vehicle with his genitals exposed.
Andre Moore, 32, was charged with exposing himself to revenue collector Patricia Melville on March 2nd at the Route 45 bus park at Stabroek.
According to the facts presented by the prosecution, on the day in question, at about 10.30am, Melville, who is assigned to collect revenues from the Route 45 bus park, approached the defendant’s minibus and she saw him sitting in the driver’s seat with his penis out of his pants. The matter was then reported to the police and Moore was charged.
Although Moore did not deny that his private parts were exposed to Melville, he stated that it was only because he had an infection in the area and it was itching him. He added that he never expected anyone to approach his bus as he was at the back of the line.
He was told by the magistrate that he was operating public transportation and his itch did not give him the right to expose himself. He was then fined.
