A labourer was yesterday granted bail after denying that he stole over $100,000 in items during a break-in.
Trevor McAllister appeared before city magistrate Dylon Bess, who read the charge against him stating that on March 16th, at Albouystown, Georgetown, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Clive Rodrigues and stole a computer, a cable and a TV remote, all valued at $103,000 in total.
A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of McAllister by Magistrate Bess after the man continually stated that he did not commit the offence.
The magistrate considered the fact that the defendant had no prior convictions in subsequently granting bail, which was set at $80,000. The matter was adjourned to April 11th for statements.
