Ganja trafficker jailed for three years

A man who was charged on December 16, 2015 with possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking was yesterday sentenced to three years imprisonment.

Abdul Bennett, of Lot 30 Stone Avenue, Campbellville, was accused of having 672 grammes of cannabis in his possession on December 14, 2015 for the purpose of trafficking.

It was alleged that Bennett was in possession of the narcotics at Stone Avenue.

At the conclusion of his trial, which saw evidence being given by two witnesses, Magistrate Judy Latchman found the defendant guilty and handed him a three-year sentence together with a $30,000 fine.
