T&T bar owner shot dead by man in helmet

(Trinidad Express) A gunman wearing a motorcycle helmet to mask his identity entered Dougie’s Club on the Western Main Road, St James, early Thursday morning and shot bar owner Earl Douglas seven times about the body.

Douglas, 52, who was described by police as a drug-trafficking suspect dating back to the 1990s, was pronounced dead on arrival at the St James District Hospital.

Police said that around 1.30 a.m., Douglas was cleaning his bar and preparing to close when the gunman walked in.

The killer withdrew a pistol from his waistband, approached Douglas and opened fire.

The man then walked out and escaped.
