Shootings may force Jolly Roger to suspend night cruises

(Barbados Nation) Last Sunday night’s triple shooting may be the last straw for owners of the Jolly Roger, who are contemplating aborting night-time cruises.

Martin Bynoe, managing director of Black Pearl Party Cruises, the company that owns and operates the Jolly Roger boat, said even though that would affect profits it seemed the only solution.

On Sunday around 10:15 p.m., Ronisha Wilkinson, 17, was shot in the back of the head while attending the Overdose cruise on board the ship. Kemari Lewis, 19, of Black Rock, St Michael, was reportedly shot in the left shoulder, while Kadeem Maycock, 20, of Baxter’s Road, The City, was reportedly shot in the left foot.

Bynoe said that he had not made the final decision but the only answer was to shut down the business and suspend all night cruises.
