According to a press release from the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), those elected are Clement Rohee, President; Juan Edghill, Vice President; Andrew Bishop, Secretary; and Indradai Ramtahal, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer.

The Constitution of the GPC, which mirrors that of the World Peace Council (WPC), was adopted at the meeting, and includes the following aims and objectives: respect of the territorial integrity of states; respect for the right of the peoples to sovereignty and independence; prohibition of all weapons of mass destruction; and negotiations instead of use of force in the settlement of differences between nations,

The PPP released added that the GPC will seek to involve the people of Guyana in their quest for international peace and security, by education and action. The release further stated that membership shall be open to individuals and organisations who or which subscribe to the ideals of the  organisation, and that the GPC will seek affiliation to the WPC, which is headquartered in Athens, Greece, at a future date.
