Miner gets bail on wounding charge

A Leonora miner was on Friday granted bail after he denied wounding allegations that were read to him by a city magistrate.

Leon Sutton, who appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, was read a charge which stated that on August 17, at Mango Landing, Mabura, he wounded Leon Thomas with the intent to maim, disfigure or disable.

Sutton, 24, pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The prosecution made no objection to bail, which Magistrate Azore subsequently set at $75,000 bail before adjourning the matter to September 8.
