Annandale tailor stabbed during robbery

An Annandale tailor is presently nursing several stab wounds about his body after he was attacked by two young men at his home.

Paul Stewart of Annandale, East Coast Demerara was reportedly attacked at his home at around 11:30 am yesterday by the two men who intended to rob him.

During the altercation Stewart was stabbed several times about his body and the men escaped with a quantity of cash after residents in the area raised an alarm.

The men were seen running into the neighbouring village of Buxton. Police mounted a search which reportedly extended as far as the Coldingen seawall before they were able to take one of the men into custody.

He had been apprehended by public-spirited citizens at his mother’s home in the village. The second suspect is still at large while Stewart is in the male ward of the GPHC.
