MP Ramson should ask Commissioner of Information for answers

Dear Editor,

It was interesting to read the letter by Charles S. Ramson [`Granger administration not transparent’ in SN of Sept 12]. I, and many others like he and I, would also like to know that information. Therefore I propose he ask the Commissioner of Information, appointed by a PPP/C President under the Access to Information Act 2011, to get the information so nicely itemized in the letter. The Act was designed and formulated by that government “to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government and public authorities.”

I will expect Mr Ramson to make the request, because he signed the letter as a Member of Parliament, and thus represents the people. I will expect him to make public the progress he is making with the request, because he publicised the request in a public newspaper.

He also signed as an attorney-at-law, so he should be able to communicate and articulate the request and feedback without much difficulty.

Let us see how long this takes.

Yours faithfully,

Alfred Bhulai
