The Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Confucius Institute of the University of Guyana (UG) launched a Chinese language and culture course on Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
GINA said that the course was declared open by the Director of the Foreign Service Institute, Ambassador Ronald Austin.
Austin noted that interest in the Chinese language worldwide is directly related to the emergence of China as an economic power and consequently a major player in the international system.
