No bail for teen facing latest armed robbery charge

A teen, who is facing several charges of robbery, was yesterday remanded to prison by a city magistrate after he denied a new armed robbery charge.

The courtroom of Magistrate Fabayo Azore yesterday heard that Alfred Hescott, 18, of 155 Middle Road, La Penitence, on September 11, while armed with a knife, robbed Daquan Clark of a Jialing motorcycle, worth $176,800.

Hescott pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him.

Police Prosecutor Simone Payne objected to the teen receiving bail, while noting, among other things, that he admitted to the crime.

Payne also told the court that when the police caught Hescott, he took them to where he had hidden the stolen bike.

She further explained that Hescott was no stranger to the court since he has several pending matters similar in nature before the court.

Magistrate Azore subsequently remanded the teen until October 17.
