Mother gives evidence in Travis Rudder murder PI

The mother of now deceased miner Travis Rudder gave evidence two Fridays ago during the continuation of the preliminary inquiry (PI) into the charge against Orpheus Johnson of murdering Rudder.

Viola Marshall recounted what occurred on June 21, 2015, which resulted in the death of her son, before Magistrate Judy Latchman.

Marshall, who became emotional as she recollected the day’s events was subject to cross-examination by Johnson.

The charge against the accused alleges that on June 21, 2015, he  murdered Rudder, at his home at Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara.

Rudder was killed after shots fired through his bedroom window hit him, his fiancée and their 18-month-old son.

Rudder was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while Gill, who was shot seven times in the leg, sustained several broken bones.

The child was shot to his abdomen.
