As many as five identification parades have been held in efforts to track down the perpetrators of the North East La Penitence robbery that ended with the death of then Banks DIH worker, Matthew Scott.
This information is according to Simone Scott, sister of the deceased, and a victim of the robbery, who also related that the last ID parade was held as recently as last week.
Simone, along with a neighbour, Maureen Bristol, had been walking home on the evening of December 13th, when they were attacked by two men armed with guns, who later fled the scene in a getaway car.
Only one of the bandits had attacked the women, and he had been briefly fought off by Bristol, who had been armed with a knife.
The woman ran into a nearby yard to seek refuge, all the while screaming in order to raise an alarm.
Matthew, along with his nephew, Jamal Scott, 20, had responded to Bristol’s cries, and the two ran out into the street, where Matthew armed himself with a brick. Shortly afterwards, he would be shot once to the chest by one of the attackers. He died after arriving at the hospital.
Matthew had been married only two weeks prior to the tragic shooting. His wife was five months pregnant at the time of his death.
