Investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident which occurred on the Goed Fortuin Public Road, WBD, about 04:05 hrs today that resulted in the death of Shawn Patrich 21 years, of David Rose Street, Bagotville, WBD.
Investigations, police say, disclosed that Patrich who was riding a motor cycle CH 8338 proceeding south at a fast rate, overtook a motor car on a turn, hit the left side front of motor lorry GJJ 5817 which was facing south and then slammed onto a light pole.
He was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
