Mabaruma youth group receives sport gear donation from police

The Mabaruma Police Renaissance Youth Group on Sunday received a donation of sporting equipment from ranks of the Guyana Police Force ‘F’ Division as part of the Social Crime Prevention initiative.

The police, in a press release, said the equipment was handed over by Commander of ‘F’ Division, division, Senior Superintendent Ravindradat Budhram and other ranks.

“The donation seeks to assist youths in developing their skills, building inter-personal relationships as well as providing a constructive outlet for them,” the release said.

The contribution was made in an effort to ensure that the youths are equipped with the necessary skills needed for a positive future, in keeping with the force’s Social Crime Prevention initiative which has since seen a drastic reduction in crime countrywide, the release said.
