Contracts awarded for Linden/Soesdyke water networks

Cabinet last week gave its no-objection to two contracts for water distribution networks on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.

According to information from the Ministry of the Presidency, R. Kissoon has been given the green light for a $47.9m contract for the installation of a transmission and distribution (T&D) network and service connections at Kuru Kuru and Kuru Kururu for the Guyana Water Inc (GWI).

  1. Jagmohan Hardware was awarded a $45m contract for the installation of a T&D nework at Waiakabra, Linden/Soesdyke Highway.

The document on the awards provided by the Ministry of the Presidency said that the works are part of an ongoing programme to provide potable water to rural communities that have been denied this service over the years.

A contract for $20.2m was also awarded to Water and Oil Well for the rehabilitation of potable water well in Georgetown – Shelterbelt #1, North Ruimveldt and Shelterbelt #2, Tucville and Mocha.
