Buxton man stabbed by child’s mother

A 31-year-old man is now admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was stabbed last night in his abdomen by his child’s mother.

Paul Kelman, 31, of Buxton, East Bank Demerara, was reportedly drinking at his girlfriend’s home late last night when the incident occurred. According to an eyewitness, while Kelman was imbibing, his child’s mother visited the house and confronted him.

“They start to argue and make a whole set of noise and he get up and carry she outside and I hear he kept telling she to don’t come and make no noise here,” the person related, stating that subsequently  she heard the man shouting, “mistress, mistress” before hearing a loud scream from him.

“When we go to he we see that he bleeding from he belly and so we call a taxi and rush him to the hospital,” the person related.

The eyewitness explained that the woman who had confronted and stabbed Kelman was last seen heading towards Friendship.

The man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted. Up to press time he was in the operating theatre undergoing surgery and the woman is still on the run.
