The Prime Minister’s wife, Sita Nagamootoo, yesterday distributed school supplies to the children of the Vergenoegen Nursery School in Region 3.
According to a press release from the Office of the Prime Minister, Nagamootoo has been observing Literacy Day and Education Month by visiting various schools in Berbice, Demerara and Essequibo, and distributing sport gears, books and school supplies.
The PM’s wife has visited schools in Shieldstown, Albouystown, Bel Air Village, Bath, Auchlyne and now Vergenoegen, the release stated.
The visits are being funded by the Ralph Joseph Charitable Foundation, named after a family friend formerly from Whim Village.
