Shieldstown biker critical after crash

A Shieldstown motorcyclist is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident.

According to reports reaching Stabroek News, Devanand Kahaman, 24, of Shieldstown, West Bank Berbice, was riding along the Fyrish Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice when he was struck down by a white Toyota 212, PPP 1245.

Stabroek News was told that the man was travelling along the public road around 4 pm on Saturday afternoon when the car raced out of a street, hitting Kahaman off of his cycle.

The man is currently a patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he is listed as critical. The driver of the car is in police custody.
