GFC, Santos crowned champs

Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and Santos were crowned the u17 and u15 divisional champs respectively when the Frank Watson Memorial Football Championship concluded yesterday at the GFC ground.

On the u17 side, the hosts edged Santos by a 2-0 margin compliments of a double from Tyrese Rowley in the sixth and 36th minutes respectively. In the earlier semi-final u-17 fixtures, Santos defeated Black Pearl 2-0 while GFC crushed Alpha United 5-0

With the win, GFC collected the championship trophy, medals and a pair of team uniforms. For the loser, they received the runners-up trophy and medals alongside a pair of team uniforms.

Also, every club that participated in the section was presented with a pair of team uniforms. Meanwhile in the u15 finale, Santos edged Alpha United by a 1-0 margin. Randy Roberts found the back of the net in the 17th minute to settle the outcome.

Due to the win, Santos claimed the championship trophy, medals and a pair of team uniforms while Alpha United collected the runners-up accolade, medals and a pair of team uniforms.

Similarly, every team that competed in the division collected a pair of team uniforms. In the u-15 semi-final matches, Alpha United defeated Camptown 2-0 while Santos edged Eastveldt FC 1-0.
