The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) in collaboration with Digicel officially launched the Digicel National Senior Squash Championships yesterday at the mobile giant’s Kingston location.
The event which is scheduled to run from June 29th-July 3rd, will be held at the Georgetown Club Facility and will feature six categories.
They are Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Novices, Veterans Men’s 35-49 years old, Veteran’s Men’s over 50 years old and Women over 35 years old. Meanwhile, only males will contest the Novices category.
David Fernandes, President of the GSA said that support for entries such as Digicel has greatly influenced the growth of the sport, noting that this edition will feature many talented players on both the male and female side.
Speaking on behalf of the company Communications Manager Vidya Bijlall-Sanichara said it is committed to the development of sport and youth as they go hand in hand, noting that the partnership is very important to the company and that it also provides the avenue for the brand to be marketed locally and internationally.
