Charity Shield Soccer Classic at semi-final stage

Zone-A winners Fruta Conquerors will oppose Santos while zone-B victors Paradise of Barbados will tackle Eastveldt in the U17 semifinals today following the end of group stage action in the Caribbean Children Charity Shield Soccer Classic yesterday.

Played at the Camp Ayanganna ground, Vlissengen Road, Fruta Conquerors maintained their unbeaten run in group-A without breaking a sweat, clinching their fifth straight victory via a walkover against Grove Hi-Tech.

Santos overcame Gall Hill of Barbados 1-0 through a Tyrese Forde strike to earn their place in the semi-final round while Paradise dismantled Blackwater 5-0.

Alex Atherly, Kai Jacobs, Romalo Trim, Jamal Julian and Demar Linton were on target in the rout. Eastveldt’s berth was sealed via a 3-0 win over Pele FC with Zion Grey, Moses Gittens and Adrian Aaron the goal scorers.

In the other U17 results, Gall Hill of Barbados and Morvant Academy of Trinidad and Tobago battled to a 1-1 draw while Trinidad and Tobago unit Creek crushed Cosmos of Barbados 3-1.

In the U15 semi-final matchups, zone-A winners Gairy John of Trinidad and Tobago will lock horns with group-B runners-up Empire of Barbados while division-B champions Paradise will match skills with section-A second placed unit Gall Hill.

In the earlier U15 matchups, Paradise defeated Empire 1-0 while Trinidad and Tobago unit Elcock Academy edged Compton of Barbados 1-0. Also, RP Warriors defeated Grove Hi-Tech via walkover and Den Amstel and Gairy John played to a 0-0 result.
