Elite All Star selection to face T/dad U20 side

The Trinidad and Tobago national under-20 men’s team arrived on local shores yesterday afternoon for a two match exhibition series as part of their international training camp.

According to sources close to the federation, the youthful outfit will faceoff with an Elite League All-Star team on Saturday and Monday respectively at the Leonora Sports Facility in West Demerara in preparation for their trip to Panama.

The matches will be used by the senior national setup to assess the local contingent of national players ahead of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has shortlisted a number of players for the upcoming clashes with Suriname and Jamaica in the aforementioned championship.

Guyana faces Suriname in the third round on October 8th at the Andre Kamperveen Stadium in Paramaribo. They will then tackle with the Reggae Boyz three days later on local soil at the Leonora Track Facility pending a confirmation from a visiting CFU team of inspectors.

The training squad which consists of 55 players, will also feature 19 overseas based individuals. The local contingent reads Alex Murray, Solomon Austin, Richie Richards, Kester Jacobs, Eon Alleyne, Gregory Richardson, Vurlon Mills, Devon Millington, Daniel Wilson, Dwight Peters, Quincy Adams, Trayon Bobb, Delon Lanferman, Colin Nelson, Dwain Jacobs, Tichard Joseph, Les Charles Critchlow, Pernell Schultz, Hubert Pedro, William Europe, Andrew Murray, Domini Garnett, Anthony Abrams, Dwayne McLennon, Jeremy Garnett, Curtis Kellman, Dorville Stewart, Dennis Edwards, Linden Pickett, Trevon Lythcott, Kevin Cottoy, Darious Frank, Amoniki Buntin, Kevin Fraser, Deon Charter and Jermin Junior.

The foreign players are Akel Clarke, Walter Moore, Sam Cox, Chris Nurse, Sheldon Holder, Neil Danns, Brandon Beresford, Anthony Whyte, Kadel Daniels, Marcel Barrington, Jake Newton, Shaquille Agard, Julien Edwards, Adrien Butters, Amos Ramsay, Kai McKenzie, Warren Creavalle, Sherif El-Masri and Corey Thomas.

“The national team will commence weekly training on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16:00hrs-18:00hrs and on Saturdays, 09:00hrs – 11:00hrs at venues to be announced,” the release from the GFF stated.
